Hey people I'm a mustang V6 owner.

Mustangs are very nice cars are probably faster than al lot of focis here. but I looking for a new car; a comfortable one. I was looking at the focus ZX3. I went to a dealer today and I tried a ZX3 with the 2.3 ZETEC engine that has 145HP. and I was impresed at how fast it was compared to what i thought it would be. even though is not as fast as my stang. It was almost as fast hehehe. well I'm going to trade mine in to get a brand new 2004 ZX3 black with all the options exept for the sound because I like doing that myself. Well alot of you guys would think that a mustang is probably nicer but It really isnt. they are noisy and very uncomfortable. and the tranny is not that good as well.(manual tranny) the zx3 i tried was manual as well and the tranny was a lot smother so keep it going people focuses are awesome!! and they have a lot more parts for focuses than for v6stangs.

I actually raced and won against a V6 mustang.....with a 2.0 Zetec............

I must say that my automatic car is difficult to tell how it drives cuz I have low-profile tires, but it's still very fun and I love my car. My boyfriend on this site, has a manual. Ridin in his car is sweeet. Pretty fun. I wish I learned how to drive a manual, but he'd never let me and I don't blame him!! [hihi]

hehehe calm down. I have full exhaust system, CAI, pulleys, gears, and a chip. running 230 HP at the rear wheel. so I guess I would beat a new foci or slightly modified. but it really doesnt matter I'll be a foci owner soon.

yea i would say u prolly had a v6 stang cause i could take a v6 fairly easy in my svt and my g/f's moms mach 1 is very smooth and its loud but not noisy there is a difference between noisy and tone, just somethign to think about.

I didnt mean it was noisy sorry its more like. its feels noisy like is not that smooth you see. its a nice car and all but I dont like having an eyecatcher car you know. its a lot better to have a nice and fast focus than a mustang. and of course a march1 is an amazing car. one of my favorites. probably I said niosy because mine is convertible and you get som sound from the wind.= blowing. but thats it. I'm not changing it for that anyway I'm just changing it because the focus is perfect for me I have more space for my amp and bass guitar is fast, nice and very easily upgradeable.

If you have the money....and Maryland State emissions code allowing....you should directly get a Turbo Kit and save your money...........worth like $3000 but you won't have to do anything else afterwards.......

[confused] You think that exhaust (MAYBE 10 at the wheel), CAI (2) gears (nothing), and chip (5) adds up to 230rwhp? [?|]

You should be sure to add a CAI to your focus when you get it, that'll bump you straight to 220fwhp! no joke!

Heh well I just recently looked at ZX3s with the 2.3 in em and was about to buy one when I figured out I can get a brand new SVT for the same payment as my jeep. So I bought a 2004 Infra Red SVT today with every option except the recaro seats and the dark argent wheels. And this thing is snappy as hell. I mean it took me absolutely no time at all to get her well over a 100mph. I dont know if a V6 mustang could hold its own against an SVT being they have 170hp 145tq and only weigh 2600lbs. I mean ive heard of people pulling low 15's at the track with a completely stock SVT sometimes even a high 14. Im going to the track at the end of the month to try her out ill post some slip pics. Ill also get some pics of the car soon its pretty dirty due to the fact I live on a gravel road. But seriously as stated above... I doubt a V6 mustang could hold up with an SVT unless it had some Forced Induction... and I worked at a ford lot for a year and a half and drove every car they had a liscence for including all SVT cars and Harley trucks ( the F250 is a killer truck ) And V6 mustangs were gutless cars even with the 5-speeds. GTs were alright... but mach 1s were insane!

Well this is a very argumentative forum I just wanted to share with you the fact that I'm getting a focus and to your knowledge a v6 with cai runs low 15's and the focus probably mid 16's. the SVT has a super charger with an svt v6 wouldnt be fair. and the rwhp I mentioned was exagereted but well man I'm trying to tell you that It was faster than the focus I tried.
It doesnt matter. I dont want to argue any more. in the v6 forums they all wanna be like v8's and here all wanna beat v6ses and v8s. my oint is that I dont care how fast they are. my bro has a 2000 z28 camaro with 330 rwhp dynoed (he loves speed) and believe I rather drive a nice comfy car that a car that has 330hp. I dont see the point of making them that fast if I myself am not going to seriously race anybody. I just want to have a nice car. and thats it. no need for svt or turbos I would probably just put a volant cai and a borla exhaust with some steeda headers but nothing else.

The SVT doesnt have any form of Forced Induction... the SVT is a tuned 2.0 Zetec with variable valve timing like a hon-duh VTECH. And some nice gear ratios in its very fun 6-speed. And I was just saying it would take a lot of money to make a V6 stang beat an SVT out. And SVTs STOCK run low 15's high 14's depending on the driver. Im pretty sure I can snag a high 14 as a got a 2002 kia spectra STOCK 125hp peice of shit to push high 16's and thats STOCK. I had the lowest reaction time at the track out of all the "tuners" at tuner night.

And I wasnt picking a fight just saying.... a V6 stang is pretty gutless and couldnt touch an SVT without heavy mods.

???? isnt SVT mean supercharged??? the SVT f150 (lighning is supercharged and the cobra SVT is too so I though it meant supercharged. but whatever I might be wrong. a v6 mustang runs 15.09 stock and flat 15s with cai at www.allfordmustangs.com there is a thread with all the info on that also some slip pics. but as I said if its supercharged I wouldnt find it strange. but i does sound strange that the svt has on ly 25 hp more than the 2.3 if its really supercharged but I might be wrong about the SC. but thanks for the acaration!.

A V6 Mustang is like the fat kid in dodgeball it really sucks (no offense) Foci are fun but there not straight line racers like Mustangs Foci are rally cars its all about the turns baby

The Focus SVT isn't a drag car like the Lightning. It's a driver's car. It is a car for aggressive drivers, not drag racers.

Nothing to do with supercharging.

Don't forget the dual-runner intake on the SVT, either. Plus the higher compression.

Then again, a plain ol' Zetec running 8 psi of boost will mop the track with the stock SVT.

didn't u say that about another car on another post?? or am i having dejavous. ANYWAYS, WELCOME TO THE FORUM. Don't pay attention to any of the criticisms here. For the most part people are friendly here, although, there occassional disagreements. I hope you enjoy your focus, If you have a 2.3, and u choose to throw on the I/H/E combo, you should be knocking on V6 Stang territory. But anywho, i don't mean to stir up a battle, just enjoy your stay

I bought a ZX3 as a daily driver BUT it turned out to be such a fun car especially after installing the VOlant intake and borla cat back, Two simple mods really woke up the little 4 banger. Car is alot of fun to drive and my other car is an 03 Cobra!

i agree that the mustang is prolly a fater car (bone stcok vs. bone stock) but im glad to see the focus is being more embraced

Thanks everyone for all the welcoming messages but i dont agree that a stock svt or ZX3 is faster than a stock mustang.

mustang v6 1/4 mile. = LOW 15's
SVT stock focus 1/4 mile. =MID 15's and thats the SVT.
and the 0-60 in mid 7's??? thats around 1 sec slower than the stang.

but anyway people AS I SAID i like the focus because its a nice upgradeable car. thats good for turns and fun to drive. and I bet on a city race a focus of any kind would win because of its skills of turning hehe and the fwd must help a lot if you use the hand brake for hard turns.

Take most things said here with a grain of salt. You'll have a tough time convincing many on this forum that ANY car is faster that our beloved focus. There is even a thread around here somewhere with many people arguing that a focus is faster than a V8 camaro and mustang.
Oh, another good one, the focus handles better than either of those too, because it is less powerful. So, I guess a stock focus must handle better than a SVT....[thumb]

On a second note. This is my first focus as well. I am working on mine slowly upgrading what I can. I needed a car when I returned from Korea with the army. I needed something that was reliable, affordable and didn't guzzle gas like my 92 cougar did.
