Just a quick question for my fellow SPI owners...
When accelerating under heavy throttle, does your SPI pull, then fade out a bit, and then REALLY get into it again?
I'm just wondering if it's a MAF problem, or something else entirely. Cam? Too lean?
Ideas?
If I had my video camera back from my parents, I'd post a quick clip of what it does. [rolleyes]
Thanks for your time!

I usually mash [full throttle] around after 35mph. The car pulls for a bit [short distance] then changes gear and dies down. I think this isnt necessarily a MAF problem, its just changing gears I guess.

No no no... you've got me wrong...
From a dead stop, I give it 2/3rds or more. It accelerates well-enough, seems to back off some (which to me indicates cam, I suppose), and then picks back up and accelerates like mad. Pulls to 60ish KM/H (1-2 shift point), and then pulls for the remainder. It appears to have a nasty hole in the powerband around 3500 if my ears are correct.
Under light to medium throttle, it pulls cleanly through that range without drama.
If I'm in 2nd @ 40 KM/H... and I give it almost WOT... same symptoms... pulls to about 55, bogs, then @ 70 it starts pulling like crazy.
Cam grind? MAF and ECU discrepancies? Any other ideas?

Come on, don't you guys know anything!!!...
Its your injector timing, lengthen the pulse another millisecond and tune your NOS timing and you will run nines!

I saw a similar post a while back.. dont remember all the details but the end result was a serpentine belt that was slipping and causing some serging. Might want to search some of the older threads and see if your problem is similar.

Dude, i almost had you. Almost had me, you never had me, you never had your car. I have an auto and ever since i installed my steeda intake, it has incredible pull and i haven't noticed a hole in acceleration in mine, but first gear is extremely slow and second-on is pretty darn quick in my SOHC. Don't know what to tell you.............................................................

I'm going to check the serpentine belt... might just be that very thing.

It's not the belt. The belt is BRAND NEW, no slippage or excess play at all. Within specs.
Damn... is it like this by design? I mean it runs fine regardless, it's just feels like it's "coming on-cam", sorta.
Anyone else get this?
*sighs* it's probably meant to run like this, and I'm paranoid.
