All SVTF manuals state 5w30 oil. Most people forget that there is a supplement manual for the SVTF.

I wont be using Mobil 1 anymore. Recently they dropped to a grade 3 synthetic oil from either 4 or 5 I cant remember. But basically if I recall correctly, this switch makes the oil not really much better than traditional oil and is still $5+ a quart.

switch, i promice nothing will blow up. As long as the oil weights stay the same there should be no problem.

Yes please post a link. Don't spread BS without something to back in up. saying something like that will definetly swade many people from using mobil1. I would definelty like to hear more about this "story."

You can switch just fine. Its just different additives.

As far as what to use instead of M1, go Pennzoil Platinum or Royal Purple.

Mobil 1 stills makes the full synthetic. That's what I've used for the last 90k miles with lots of extended high rpm driving.

They also came out with some extended and clean stuff which is not full synthetic and cheaper.

And make sure to use 5w30.

Y are you all still using an inferior oil? Mobil 1 is not 100% synthetic no matter what they tell you and I dont know if I believe their 95% synthetic rating either. AMSOIL is the only true 100% fully synthetic oil. Thats what I run in my svt foci. Just put my first 3000 miles on her and checked the oil and it still looks like fresh oil. That stuff is great. I ran it in my 700rwhp cobra, so it should be able to handle anything I throw at it in my focus.....

Just my $0.02

Just curious Venomus, why do you say that its not 100% synthetic? I have a bottle right here in front of me and its says, "5W30 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil". Granted, i havent done alot of research on this, but wouldnt they have a huge law suit against them if they stated this and it not be true? This is the only oil we ever use and have never had any problems. I was just wondering where you got your info from, i would really like to read it.

was searching Bob is the oil guy and found this pertaining to Mobil 1 being possibly part mineral oil and synthetic...? It is not definite - they say more testing needs to be done.

What oil looks like has nothing to do with its condition. An oil analysis is the only way to actually know. Here is one such service: http://www.blackstone-labs.com/

Amsoil does not seem to give the same extended OCI results as it once did. I'm afraid the industry as a whole is switching to Group III base stocks. Not sure what I'll go with next. Got a lot of research to do...

I'd say BS.

Mobil 1 is filled at the factory into these vehicles:

Acura RDX
Aston Martin
Bentley Amage and Bentley GT
Cadillac CTS, CTS-V, XLR, XLR-V, SRX and STS and STS-V
Chevrolet Corvette C6 and Z06
Chevrolet SSR
Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS
Chrysler 300C SRT-8 and Crossfire SRT-6
Cobalt SS
Dodge Ram SRT-10
Dodge Charger SRT-8, Magnum, and Viper
Jeep Cherokee SRT-8
Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles
Mercedes SLR
Mitsubishi EVO III
Pontiac GTO
All Porsche vehicles
Saturn Red Line
Viper SRT-10

I've personally seen it dumped into the 911 rsr, which year after year wins lemans in 24 hour sprint races. These are 400k cars and the team I'm familiar with doesn't get paid to use their oil.

....AND as was shone in the pic, their offerings range from conventional to full synthetic. How much do you want to spend....?

I work at a powersports shop and we sell Amsoil. That's all I run now. We've run the mobil before and it's good. Amsoil just lasts better. I've sent in for oil sambles before when I was running it in my Duramax.(now sold) We currently run it in Cummins, Powerstroke, Duramax, my SVTF, my Cobra, Audi S4 & A4, Single cylinder motors, v-twins and inline 4 snowmobiles and motorcycles.
Amsoil does make an engine cleaner that you can run in your motor for 15 mins before the switch. It's supposed to clean up the gunk and deposits. When I put it in my diesel after the clean, I pulled my dipstick out and the oil was still slippery and brown like when I put it in. If you've ever changed oil on a diesel before you know as soon as you put the oil in and run it, it turns BLACK again.

Mobil 1 "full synthetic" is like 5% mineral oil, and 95% synthetic. I'm telling you AMSOIL is the only true 100% synthetic. Even Royal Purple and Redline use some mineral oil.
