Hey, SVT fanatics, I have a 2003 SVT and my son has a 2004 SVT. We have both replaced our driving lights. My son is going on a 3rd set again. I guess the lens are not very tuff because I have yet to hear anything hit my car like rocks or gravel. The lights aren't cheap so this is getting expensive. You can't buy just the lens from Ford either. Anybody got a solution? I did see another Focus site that sold protective clear covers but my question is what is breaking the len's. Neither of my broken lights look like a rock hit them. I am wondering whether the heat put out by the light plus the cold air or water cracks them. Anyway, I'll be buying some replacements real soon. Any advice out there?

I have replaced 3 this year alone....everytime, I think it was a rock that hit it. My friend had a SportTrac and that thing had the same lights/same issues. Your best bet is to at least try to get some laminx for them. Not sure how well it works though, might just hold the broken pieces together, but I cant see how it cant help toughen it up a bit. I even thought about finding a rock guard that would fit over them

My son and I both have SVTFs and were breaking fog lights until we put 40 mil Headlight Protection Film on them. Since we put the film on 2 years ago neither of us have lost a fog light. We bought the film from a company in San Antonio, Tx called X-pel (www.xpel.com), very friendly and helpful.
I used to work for the man who owns Xpel!
Are the lights a factory item only?
I am cheap and my right light is busted out!
