I was trying to change my oil today and whoever last put my oil plug on my car, must have tightened it down beyond belief. No matter what I tried I could not get it off and I even had my brother helping me. So, I'm gonna have to go have it taken off because we pretty much rounded off the bolt. My question is, do we have the same oil plug as the regular 2.0 zetec motors? I would like to know so If I take it to ford they can find a replacement and not something just to fit in there. Thanks for any help and for listening to my ranting stupidity.

Try your Friendly Local Auto Parts Store, (FLAPS) they will have it and it will be a lot less than at the dealer.

take it out if you can, and walk into autozone or whatever your local parts store is, and get one..it can just fi...it doesnt really matter, as long as the oil doesnt get out...btw, if that happens again, just use a ratchet, 13mm socket, and a cheater bar...lol, always keep the cheater bar around whenever your working on anything...+1 for a foot long and 1 inch diameter pipe!

You sure you were turning it the right direction? Remember, turn towards the passenger side. I know it's easy to get turned around under the car.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
I finally got it off with a big pair of vise grips and the assistance of a couple friends. Yeah we were turning the right way it just didn't want to budge. Went ahead and bought one at a local store to replace it. Thanks again.

I'm not the one who originally torqued it down so much. If I knew who did torque it down so much I would beat them with the big ass pair of vise grips I bought. Well I guess it worked out for the best though, because while I was in Sears buying the vise grips I went ahead and bought me a new Craftsmen 4 drawer tool chest with 263 piece tool set. It was on sale.[thumb]
