So i brought in my svt thursday to have them listen to the rattle in the clutch , they called me friday and told me they could not hear it ...... so i go there and he heard it , he was like well its pretty quite... but then told me ok they'll take a stethoscope or w/e to look and find the problem .. my question is , will this find the problem or are they just trying to hide the noise from me with a quick fix of some sort to get outa really doing the whole fix...... i suck with working on cars so any info would be wonderfull.... I hope they try to fix it!!!

Ummm If our car is under warentee a TSB can be performed with or without the issue being prevalent.
Tell them there is a TSB for it and to please look it up.

ok yea i did tell them about the tsb i saw my report and it had the tsb on it , but the master tech. just told me they would take a stethoscope to find the problem .. i just thought that was wierd cause if they just do what the tsb says they could possible find the problem.

my dealership gave me the run around.. the noise is very loud and they still say its not the tsb problem, its the runners.. im like when u engage the clutch it goes away... thats a sign of the TSB right there...

o yeah, its still not fixed...

yeah i noticed some clutch chatter at the drive up window at Mc.D's this weekend (gotta love those 99 cent double cheeses!!) and i pushed the clutch in and it went away, and didn't come back...my past experiances with the dealership (the screwed up my euro wheels, and put gouges in my door panel) leads me to believe they should all be fired.....from a cannon into the sun. The Phrase "Stealership" comes to mind. There is a TSB for the car, hammer the point in and don't back down until they do what they are supposed to do, and thats fix the darn problem. I hate dealerships and regret ever going to one.

mine dose same thing, i have not talked to the dealer yet but i am almost afraid to! With all the aftermarket stuff they would prob. say its not covered under the war.!!

well the dealer would not fix it they said the noise was not loud enough to be the problem how they get that i have no F'n clue........... but they were somewhat cool about the whole thing .... so hopefully they are right and it wasnt the tsb but i guess only time will tell :/

I had the same issue trying to get the TSB done. I found that when the car is sitting still, (running of course) if I put very light pressure on the clutch pedal, the noise becomes quite prevalent. Give that a shot. That sure shut up the mechanic.
Although since then, I've been having a bit of trouble getting the shifter into first. Gonna have to take it back AGAIN to have that fixed.

the service departments are hacks. They broke mine 3 times before I dropped the tranny and reinstalled the parts myself with the pressure plate done right. My clutch was literally locking up where it felt like you were squatting 250 lbs just to push the pedal down.

anyone think to call ford directly and tell them the problem with the clutch and dealership? usually solves the dealerships problem quickly.
most dealerships will try to find a way out of it since warranty only pays them a flat fee...not the book hrs

Hello to the the clutch rattlers...the reason for the issues you are having, is the noise is coming from the throwout bearing, when you press on the clutch pedal, noise is gone and when you release the noise is back. My Foci did the samething and took it the dealership and they found a TSB and replaced all 3 components, clutch, pressure plate and bearing, since then no noise and that's back in 2004. hope this helps...

When I bought the car 2 years ago they put a whole new trans in it and did the tsb. Well mine is chattering if you barely put your foot on the clutch just as you guys are talking about. But my car has 42000 on it. If I take it in will I be screwed, I have the extended warranty and everything I mean it's not my fault it's a manufacturers defect. So I hope they check it out what do you guys think???

from what the dealer told me the tsb is only covered on the 36k mile warrenty not extended , but my dealer told me the pressure plate and solenoid where cover'd but they wont cover the clutch plate itself after 36k cause its a wear part........ but i think im just going to drive my car for now the noise still hasnt gone away but i guess when it goes out ill get a stage 2 or 3 and light flywheel ...
