Well, thanks to all the responses in this (http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9513) thread....
It's Here!!!

Just making sure to break it in properly on the top-end.
273 miles. 100mph test run.

Impressions:
The Sonic Blue is Soooooo nice.
Looked at a '03 Pitch Black with the Euro, but it was a bit trashed with 120+ miles, and the interior was "sloppy".
Gees, they could have cleaned it a bit.
Not impressed with the Blackfoot, ID Dealer's presentation.
Soooo, it was off to Boise, ID to pick up the '04 Sonic Blue.
Besides, after much deep thought, I realized it was easier to change seats rather than color if the time came.[;)]
1) It's not so much that the car is fast, but that it does so with an extreme amount of "finesse".
2) Suspension is way smoother than I thought it would be, especially since I was in it for 8 hours on the trip home.
My "tush" was quite comfy.
3) That dang button next to the Audiophile 6 disk thing was not explained to me.
After I finally started mastering the audio controls, I thought, "hmmm, what's this button"?
You guessed it.
At 80mph running down the highway, that code/chip thingy popped off into the passenger seat and hit the floor.
Ahhhhh! No more tunes!!! I better pull over and find it, before it's lost.
Cool feature, just wish I had known ahead of time.
4) By now, it's dark. The HID's are really nice.
After being used to the 90/130 watt Hellas in the Bronc', it's not that the HID's are a lot brighter,
but that they fill every square inch of roadway that they light up.
No dead spots. Nice.
5) The red triangle for the hazard indicator gets a little annoying at night.
Looks like some evil pumpkin is going to emerge from the dash and attack me.
6) Cripes! This thing is small, even though it feels big inside.
I sure hope that semi-truck sees me.
Good thing I chose the blue and not the black. I think they can see it better.
7) I need a console. Nuts, where do put everything you need?
Like, flashlight, maps, CD's, water bottle, etc etc.
8) Oh boy, at least an hour of driving in snow on I-15.
I can safely say that traction control WORKS.
I know these aren't winter tires, but I am impressed at how well it "holds the line" at 60mph on 2-4" of compact snow and ice.
Didn't think I'd get to test snow prowess till next fall.
Glad I got a bit of a feel for it now, and I "likey".
9) Gas mileage has been great, especially since I was not in economy mode to break in the engine properly.
I had the wife in her Escape "lead" with the cruise control, and I'd drop back, catch up, drop back...
1st tank: 281.2miles/9.371gallons/30.01mpg
2nd tank: 245.7miles/8.524gallons/28.82mpg
Synopsis:
This is my first brand new car, in 44 years of life.
I'm really enjoying that new car smell, and new car ride!
Great trip back from Boise.
Took the back roads, and spent some time at Craters of the Moon.
Cool!
Thanks again for all the help folks.
I've now updated my sig pic to actually show a Focus instead of a Bronco.[thumb] [:D]
Oh, I've got an image gallery set up now in the SVT galleries.
Just search for my username, WD40.
Or, clicky here (http://www.focusfanatics.com/gallery/showgallery.php?ppuser=5157)
EDIT:
Ah ha. I knew there was one more thing, related to "decontenment" (get rid of the "nickel and dime" stuff to save a buck) in later years of the same model run.
I seem to missing the "dead pedal".[mad]
Swore I saw it in some of the interior pics in the galleries, but were probably from '03 and earlier models.
Hmmmmm. Anything else I should look for?
I do like the new 6 spoke wheels.[:D]
