I was wondering if any one out there with the fidanza flywheel has raised there idle? Mine stops making noise when its warmming up from a cold start it rpms are at 1100. If raised what would be the the ill effects from doing so ???? Also why does it make noise when in in idle and thern when i push the clutch down the nois stops could the clutch be lightly touching the flywheel??? thanks for any help. [???:)]

Pressing the clutch will rid the noise.

Changing your idle is fine, no side effects.

idle will always be high on a cold start and as for the noise my fidanze in my svt always had a loud chatter its completely normal....

Not to thread jack, but i just made the switch to fidanza and CM Stg 1 clutch, and chatter for me at idle doesnt bother me, but to those of you that have made the switch over to the solid fidanza peice, does your chattter increase with rpm's, and if not, whats wrong with my car, I just got it back and I want to make sure its ok before I drive it anymore. Mine will increase in both nuetral and in gear, It gets really loud around 3k...

Just got my car back, Stage 1 CM, fidanza 12.1lb fly.. I hear absolutly no chatter whatsoever, but i can tell its a totally different setup when shifting 1 to 2, grabs like mad, 2-3 grabs pretty nice.. all in all i love it :) No noises that would be expected.

I get chatter as well...but it was there when the setup was stock.

I too have the CM1 and Fidanza. Real nice setup..it's like having bought a new car!! [:D]

The car stock had no chatter either, at idle the car is so quiet :) Yes, new clutch and flywheel is like a new car. Do the counterweight removal on the shifter and you'll really feel like you got a new car

This seems to be a fairly common complaint amongst fidanze clutches. I think it would be safe to assume your car is fine Joker2.0

How many miles you put on it so far with the new setup?

You'll have the chatter no matter what with an aluminum flywheel. I think its worth it though. I noticed on my car though if I was at higher rpm (5,000+) and I let off the throttle, the chatter was really loud.
I also heard it will chatter more if the clutch disk and the disk on the flywheel aren't completely clean when installed too.

a large part of the noise was a broken heat shield must have broke at the trans shop now i need to figure out how to raise my idle to 1100 rpms at that point i almost hear no chatter. Has anyone tried this ????

Simple fix.
I just put in the Clutch Masters Lightweight Flywheel, and Stage 3 clutch. I can barly hear anything at idle, and that's it. Revs, grabs, and goes so much faster!
