: SpeedHut no-go on '04 PZEV

I just got the EL GLO SpeedHut gauge face yesterday for my 2004 ZTS PZEV.

It doesn't fit at all.

The centers are off - you can have like the tach hole perfectly centered, and the other holes are out of whack and will look like crap when the needles go back on. I could not get any 2 holes to look like they were centered properly at the same time.

YES, I pulled my needles -- it was the only way to get it on the '04 PZEV cluster. But I pulled them with the knowledge of how to recalibrate them. :)

I'm going to have to return it. I did call them before I ordered, and they said if it doesn't fit right I can return it, so that's promising.

Anyone know of anywhere else that sells guage faces? I like the idea of a entire face replacement rather that the "stick-on" overlays. They seem kinda cheap to me now that I've had my hands on one. I'd rather pay more and get something more substantial.

While I had the cluster opened up, I DID manage to change the LEDs with surface-mount Blue PowerTops for the following lights:

Turn signals - now blue, 2 PowerTop SMT LEDs each
Cruise Control ON - now blue, 1 PowerTop SMT LED
LCD Trip/Odometer - now blue. Had to desolder the LCD display, removed it to find SIX SMT LEDs below it. Desoldered the green LEDs, installed 6 PowerTop SMT LEDs. It looks SWEET!!! :)

Now I've just gotta get my ticks and numbers to all be blue and I'll be all set. :P

eggyolk had a problem with his speedhut gauges too on his PZEV but he posted that he removed the needles to install the gauge and everything was fine.
I think he has an '03 PZEV.

I put the LCD in test mode and drive around, re-adjust my needles spot-on no problem. :)
I've had them off and back on 3 times now.

I've not heard back from SpeedHut, I sent them an email early this morning describing my problem. I know they read it, because I got a Read Receipt back in the email.

I cant get the Tach to stay low enough for the needle to clear. I get it in there and all looks good. but then it gets stuck on. Need more double sided tape or something. Don't know what to do.

Bro, mine fit fine, same cluster. Actually the alignment is a tiny bit off for the indicator lights, but it's nothing bad at all, nobody can even tell.

Ya I did have an issue recalibrating, mostly because my father kinda screwed up the needles when he wanted to help. It's ok, My speedo says about 3mph faster than I'm actually going, which helps keep my speeding in check.

Mine looks great, hell the Ford dealership thought it was stock when I brought it in.

Did you notice if you had some extra holes on your gauges for needle stoppers? the 04 pzev doesnt have any and most gauge faces they sell out there have these holes. Also did you notice if your warning indicator lights were all mixed up?

I know this is an ancient thread but im so desperate for proper gauges for my zx3! my setup looks like ass! [:(!]

i think all of them out there have the holes in them for the needle stops - the ones i carry do too. on a white face it may stand out more, but on silver or a darker color like blue it's almost not noticable - it kinda blends with the idiot light lenses
