Well, I installed my shifter just a few minutes ago. I'm about to finish up the final touches, but I wanted to say thanks to Doug for making such an easy to follow how-to guide. I lubed everything liberally so I don't have to relube the thing again. Reverse is a pain to get to even more so than before, but I think it'll just take a little more getting used to since the cable/white cup joint isn't used to stretching out that far.
I wasn't planning on getting the STS until Christmas time or so, but after driving Ataru's car, I ordered mine the same week. I knew how I wanted the shifter to feel, and the Ford Racing STS gets pretty damn close to what I was looking for. Definitely an upgrade anyone who likes to shift will enjoy. Now I just gotta find the new shift knob I want. See, I saved something for Christmas.
