no heat soak with top mount?
Good question. As Mother Focus pointed out, the air filter is getting fresh air while moving, but while sitting still, it is under the hood and will intake some hot air. The air-to-water IC seems to easily overcome any effect this has. My IAT's are pretty much always kept equal to ambient except under boost. The turbo also runs very cool in this location. Most of the heat is behind the engine. I have taken a lot of temp readings with an infrared temp gun. The highest temp I have ever recorded on the turbo center housing is 170 degrees F. Thats while the engine is still running after long drives or WOT pulls.
