Excuse my non-knowledge here about what I'm talking about, I know almost nothing about sound systems in cars. I'm only good with the technical stuff. I hope you guys will understand what im asking about. I have a 2005 Saleen Focus and I want to get a new radio. I mean like the face plate thing. As of right now I have a six cd changer and I want to replace that faceplate with one that has the iPod adaptor so I can listen to my iPod. I've heard about single and double dins but I have no idea what size mine is. Any help would be awesome! Thank you!
Budget is kinda improtant, you have a double din opening, Aftermarket is the only way to go as the factory system sucks. With the double din opening you an purchase a full sized unit to fill the entire opening with touch screen, bluetooth, dvd and so on for in the neighborhood of $300. You can also purchase a single din unit which you will also have to buy an adapter for and that will give you a little cubby hole in the dash for storing stuff as the single din takes up half the space. You should be able to find something decent in a single din that looks great and had ipod function for around $150.
Look around crutchfield.com to get some idea on whats out there and what will fit your car.
