You could also look into Plastidip. It's kind of like a rubberized spraypaint, it goes on just like paint, but feels more like rubber or plastic when on. It can be peeled away pretty easily, and will protect the paint while giving the car a unique color. Usually people do it just to wheels or badges or trim pieces, but it can be applied to the entire car and can look quite nice if done right. Look up for example of folks doing the entire car.
