I got K&N filters for my next oil change as part of Advance's Pennzoil Platinum promotion. Man are they stoutly built. Much heavier than the PureOne's. Of course all that matters it the filtering media and I haven't taken them apart to compare the media.

The 2012 is supposed to change at 10,000 miles. I changed mine at 5,000 and was not really pleased wit hthe shape the oil seemed to be in.So next time I will go with 4,000 mi
The stock Motorcraft filter is very good.
As stated earlier, and all over BITOG, you can't tell the condition of the oil by looking at it. You're probably wasting your money with 4k OCI's.
