The Crown Vic was repainted flat black before I got it, but the a/c didn't work, there was no radio, and the rack was shot, but hey for $1000 at the time it was a v8 RWD body on frame monster.

It still drove fine other than it being a pain to steer at low speeds due to the rack and steering shafts binding worse at low speed. At higher speeds it was great.

It would cruise all day long flying down the expressway at the flow of traffic give or take.

But I had made the mistake of putting the money in new tires for the Oldsmobile and not the Crown Vic. Only had enough money to really drive one or the other due to the tuition costs.

Long story short was that I had a blow out that started at high speed on the last work day of a work term, but because of the messed up steering rack/ assist I was able to easily pull it to the right shoulder from the left hand lane.

If I had stopped immediately it might have been ok, but the tire shredded the wheel arch liner and yanked the entire wiring harness around the wheel killing the car.

Car had close to 330k miles on the body, but when I got it less than 100k on the engine and transmission.
