North South Ranger engine is for torquing. Focus East West engine is for horsing.
Ranger crank is lighter than Focus crank. Balance shafts are not needed. If you buy piecemeal remember that really late model heads started farting around with variable timing somesuchnonsense. No good. 2.0 head and ranger head bad. 2.3 head and nice intake good. And there may be a rebuild or two in the faq section. If not, someone on the turbo ranger site has done one or two.
