I'd suggest you create a separate thread for your issues, and be as thorough as possible describing the symptoms. I'd say it seems unlikely to be your catalytic converter. Even if it is, don't buy a stock cat unless you have strict emissions checks. Go with a high-flow cat as it will be much cheaper, might be emissions legal in some areas, and will even give performance gains. Or ORP.
I just would hate to see someone spend $2000 needlessly.
