I don't think he dumped the Focus solely for MPG gains. He was probably driven to it by Ford's refusal to correct obvious problems in their product (and their dealerships). Everything is "normal" if they don't want to fix it. That's one way to keep your warranty costs down.

Oh, and way to call him 'stupid' without actually doing so. Bravo! Very clever.
