I leave for work at 4am, they were in the process of ploughing but my parking area hadn't got it yet. I can't really fault them for that, especially when snow was falling at nearly 2" per hour.

And unless you're Focus is lowered, you don't have too much to worry about. I wouldn't drive through really anything more than 3-4" for an long period of time, but if there's that much snow piled up on the road, probably best just to stay home till the plough trucks come out.
