When 87 octane was touching the $4.25/gal here 9 months ago or so, I noticed that the E85 was FAR behind on the price hikes, and didn't go over $3/gal, making the 30% less efficiency trade off pretty much moot.

Right now the E85 and 87 octane are similarly priced, which makes NO sense to run the E85 on, but in the future, I will probably be setting up my '86 Mustang's new engine for E85. It runs cleaner than 93 octane, and you can run around 5 degrees more timing to take advantage of the knock-resistance. The only upgrade required to run the E85 is 30% larger injectors and a twist of the distributor. Voila. Enjoy your extra low end torque.

Has anyone done 87 vs 93 vs E85 dyno testing with the FlexFuel Focii? I'd love to see if the ECU takes advantage of the 12:1 compression on E85 like it SHOULD be able to.
