Easy fix to buy time, maybe permanent fix

After looking over the leaking cmc on my 2003 svt I noticed that the white plunge rod was sliding to the outside of the pedal pin upon being depressed. I also noticed that doing so was stretching the seal boot out of shape allowing fluid to leak. I assume the plunger hole wears over time allowing more than normal play. I decided to attempt a simple fix to buy time until warmer weather arrives. I slid a rectangular spring steel fastener onto the shaft to hold the plunger in a straight up and down position as it is being depressed. I don't know the official name for the fastener but they can be purchased at autozone. A week later and there is no leaking at all. I doubt this will work in all situations but considering how cheap, quick and easy this is it is well worth the effort for anyone who needs a quick fix or just to buy some time.
