Well how low do you want to go and what type of driving will you be doing? There are plenty of people that daily drive really low cars (2"+) and are happy campers. I have an '07 with a 1.5" and while I think its a huge improvement over stock (handles much better than stock as well) I could see myself going lower. If you have a larger budget and want versatility to go lower or higher, I'd also suggest look at coilovers and have the choice to lower or raise your car.

An easy starting place for wheels, like what other suggested and go with a set of used SVT wheels. They look nice and can be found used at a good price. will also have other sets you can look at that will fit your car (we have a slightly uncommon bolt pattern and offset, 4x108 and et40-50)
