If you've never washed/clay barred/polished/sealed/waxed a vehicle before, do yourself a favor do DO NOT go out and spend $100+ on products. You will just be wasting your money. Start out with something inexpensive and simple until you learn how to do it, and then upgrade. A product is only as good as the person using it.

I used to be in a car club and did shows from small local venues to NOPI, and I have several trophies to prove it. I used to ask for my judging sheets, so I could learn what the judges liked and didn't like. I had several that complimented me on the condition and shine of my paint. All it takes is some patience and a lot of elbow grease. If you're fully "detailing" your car, it's going to take several hours, so plan ahead of time. Don't rush it, take your time, and do a good job. Once you get comfortable, then you can trim some time off of it.

Good luck!
