Yeah, but I'd think that a timing problem would've been evident when you drove it away after the timing belt job. It's not something that will develop over time.
You can replace the PCV line with plastic elbows and line for about $10. You should also replace the PCV itself since it can become clogged and cause these problems without any evidence of issues on the hose.
Why would that have any bearing on the battery light that doesn't make sense. But to be sure which is the PCV Line? Is it at the top attached to the valve cover or down lower because the lower hose feels very strong but the one on top is kinda cheap feeling and has a mini air cone on the end of it. I did not do this the previous owner did. I believe the last time the T belt was changed was with the previous owner as well.
