I think the seals are really the issue here. Funny how those "little details" are overlooked. I know someone that designed a windmill... he put it up and it spun and generated electricity and everything... then if fell over because he put no engineering effort into the feet / base of the windmill.
The thing is GetRag also makes dual-clutch transmissions for manufacturers like Ferrari, Audi, VW, BMW, and more. I doubt the issue is the actual dual-clutch transmission, but more-likely the software Ford has created to go with it and the implementation of the DCT with the rest of the drive-train.
