No. I do not believe the heat gun will work for this. Not enough heat and I think the plastic will start melting before you got the adhesive to soften and by the time it go from one end of the headlight to the other, it will have cooled off and the adhesive will be hard again. The adhesive is serious. The baking is safe if you stay within the time limits/ temperature and you are careful, very careful. It takes a lot of patience and time.
