I think it's obvious that GM is neck deep in politics.If they were not,they would have cut the GMC division years ago.The GMC Canyon sells only about 25% of the Colorado/Canyon platform and together still sell less than the Ranger did.
GM seems to think a facelift and the global look will work for them.In the short term this will probably work (and helped by the fact the Ranger is gone),but in the long run they will need to push the politics aside and seriously trim GMC.
Gmc is a little more interesting in Canada. For some reason it outsells Chevy by a little bit in full size trucks an probably other areas.
I've heard some Canadians who erroneously believe GMC stands for "General Motors Canada" which maybe has something to do with the GMC sales. I Prefer GMC to Chevy mainly because it doesn't have the bowtie on it.
