He is purchasing OEM parts. Not aftermarket. Warranty wouldn't be voided at all.
He is clearly willing to pay what he needs to since his dealer lied. If he knew this from the beginning I'd imagine he would've gotten the Nav at time of purchase.
He has spent much more than what we pay. He has the same hardware. It's really the software isn't it?
I don't understand why this can't be enabled and why Ford isn't making it easier. It's not like this is some underground and illegal scheme, he clearly wants to spend money.

That's exactly it. One of the only features I said I *required* when I pre-ordered the car was the full navigation system. The dealership saw "Nav" on the VIN and assumed it was the full map nav. I looked at the car before signing for the car, but while I was doing so the salesman said he was going to look for the SDCard to make the nav work. After signing he came back and said "It didn't come with one".
So, in other words, I desperately wanted the full Nav system when I ordered the car...I got screwed by the dealership on it, and now nobody will help rectify that mistake. I spent $30k on a car with a feature I was promised and didn't receive. Since then, not a single person has had anything to say but "Sorry".
