Cliffs notes: need help with fueling transitions. Where do I start?
I JUST finished installing a new cossie knock-off intake manifold, 60# injectors, IAT sensor in the manifold, and water/meth injection.
OK, so I've had the Pro Racer Package for quite a while now, but am still cutting my teeth on some things. The acceleration part of the tune is by far the simplest!
What I am running into now and have before (mainly on a warm startup) is a momentary lean condition after closing the throttle. It is pretty clear there is a transition occurring where it is reading values from somewhere other than the acceleration tables (MTF, BFT, etc).
My idle is great. The idle is actually better than before with no ISC changes etc. MTF needs a bit more tweaking, but I'll get there.
Even on a hot day like today I have zero knock during accel or decel, 0psi or 11psi, so the acceleration part of my tune is at least safe.
Note: I have Coasting Fuel Shut Off disabled by setting the Min Coolant value to 250. This was an attempt to help me control these transition better.
My question is: what tables/multipliers should I be researching that have a significant but momentary (1-2 seconds) affect on my AFRs on decel?
Also, upon installing the cossie-style intake manifold I disabled set the IMRC switch to 0. Does anything else need done? The logs for IMRC_OPEN are always "0" now. I thought it would be "1".
One more question, I have 60# ford racing injectors. The first file I tried filed under Ford\Injectors\60# where WAY off. Even the pdf file on the ford racing site was incorrect! The car would run worth anything with those values. Then I noticed the minimum pulse width was WAY high (about 300% high). I tried another 60# injector file named "NEW 60# injector" and it works fantastic. I'm not sure if the values are 100% accurate, but it's far better. If anyone knows for certain what value file to use for the ford racing 60# please let me know.
I don't want to come off as a complete noob. The main problem is I don't tweak my tune but every couple years, at which point I manage to forget everything I learned.
I will be continuing to research, and if I find my answer before someone replies I'll post up.
