I think the ST, given that it weighs significantly less than the Escape and the different tuning, will indeed be the "Focus on Steroids".
The reason I cancelled the ST order (and, don't get me wrong, I think it's a gifted piece of engineering) were that I wanted the AWD to get that power to the ground, along with the nearly doubled interior capacity and the ability to pull 3,500 pounds of motorcycle/bike trailer. It's nearly like, in terms of practicality, a "practical ST" for me. I intend to do the 2013 Cayman for sporting (and I've had some fun showing off the 2012 Focus at Porsche Club events) and the 2013 Escape for the daily driver.
Ford is doing some really exciting things . . . I'm thrilled.
