First post here. I recently had to rent a car and traveled from Chicago to New York and back in a 2012 Ford Focus SEL. At first, I was disappointed by the rental car clerk informing me that it was going to be a Focus since I remembered a close acquaintance years ago owning a 2005-2007 Focus and me not being overly impressed with it. I was shocked and surprised with the new Focus. It was a comfortable 2,000-mile test drive on a rental with 30,000+ miles. At the time, there was something I couldn't quite figure out in that it didn't feel like I was driving a Ford. It felt like I was traveling in a European car. (I own a European motorcycle so I'm a bit biased when it comes to German engineering.) I thoroughly enjoyed the SYNC connection with my iPod for listening to music and the Bluetooth from my smartphone for podcasts. On the trip back, I left New York at 9am and arrived home west of Chicago by 11pm. Time flew. In a blink of an eye. I fell in love with the car.
Thus, in the last couple months I did my research—a lot right here at Focus Fanatics—and searched for the Focus that I wanted with my exact specifications. It's amazing in this day and age how you can do a chat at the Ford site, tell them what you want (SEL, 300A package, etc.) and they'll find multiple locations of the exact car. There were two in Michigan and one in Minnesota. And to top it all off, when I went into my local dealer the salesman did a great job of being honest with me on all of the pricing along with doing the trade with a dealer 250+ miles away to get me the car I wanted for a reasonable price along with the current 0% interest Ford (and every other car company this time of year) is offering to get rid of the 2012s since the 2013s are coming.
So, I'm a happy new Focus owner and being that this is the thread for "LOVING my Ford Focus" I had just had to pop in and say "Whoo-hoo!"
