Drill Stops = Win

For those not following... I did not want to use the retaining nut that came with the knob, it added at least 1/2" to the knob height and I preferred losing 1/2" instead. Used a 1/2" drill stop (or set depending on who you talk to) and just set screwed it to the shifter shaft. This would make it possible to reinstall the boot up against nearly any knob.
I read this after I had installed the grommets, I believe the drill stops would be a great addition to my setup to hold everything really snug. I am going to get some today and see if they help at all. Good call of the drill stops, they are perfect for this!
