Protip: a buddy to help makes the annoying retention spring a non issue really. The biggest tip of all when steeda says carefully remove the plastic cap and washer from the stock shifter they mean carefully. I was a bit too vigorous and shot the plastic washer end thing about forty feet off to its death where i will never see it again. So moral of the story is until i find a new one i have no shift boot because i have to manually lift the linkage to get into reverse and despite having short throws, no matter what gear i am in the shifter will go back to sitting in the neutral position between three and four despite being in gear. At the end of the day i could do it all again in an hour with the help of a buddy and no lost parts.
