Oh don't do that. You should never scrape with your fingernail, you could mar the clear coat. Such damage can probably be buffed out, but you should never do that.

I once had a silver car and when I was washing it I noticed that there were tiny oil spots all over it. They were very fine, and you had to look real close to see them. I'm guessing I drove behind someone that was burning a lot of oil for a while and it accumulated on my car. Clay bar took care of that just fine. It's good stuff.
