From what I understand other manufactures (FWerks and Steeda) test with the hood open and the fan in front of the car. This renders these results meaningless. I don't know anyone who drives with their hood removed to allow full flow of ambient air.

That's how it works when you are actually driving.
Seeing as how there isn't a dyno that reads power when you are actually driving, they all have to do this with static dynos.
