Q: I know it's press-fit into the block; any tricks on getting it out? No bracket down low, but was one up high to the long-gone intake manifold. Tube wiggles ever so slightly, and have it soaking with Liquid Wrench.
In for a lunch break, then back out to make the first attempt at pullin' the block. The cherry picker is all hooked up, and the cat and lower two block-to-bellhousing bolts (and bracket) are out.
With the oil pump still on, I have 2.5 inches clearance on the front of the engine, but the clutchpack is at least 3 inches as felt through the starter's hole. So it is looking very likely I'll have to unbolt the pressure plate to get the block out, and then install the new oil pump after I put the block back in. Time will tell ...
