I have Yellow Blaze paint also:
I have noted the front bumper is painted at a different angle than the body. So due to the way the paint changes depending on the angle light hits it, the bumper tends to not match the body.
(not because it is a different color, but because the color changes due to various ways light is reflected off the paint) In certain kinds of light it matches.

I am at 2,400 miles or so, and at week eleven of ownership. My Focus has no paint chips so far, except a tiny nick in the door handle (probably caused by myself with a careless key.) I keep a very large distance from the car in front of me. Probably double what anyone else (who does not tailgate) keeps.
So I wonder if that has helped keep me from getting chipped paint
