I blew the motor at 80k miles-ish it since the first few months had a tick, I guess was the fuel infectors, but the hydrolock gave it a different tick.

I am sure I can get a 2.3 L engine in there if its as easy as you guys say, but I do not anyone to tune it.. I cannot swing all the motor labor and parts and still buy the tune tool from SCT for another $400 to $800.

I figures $800 for motor if I get the 2.3L, $200 for the odds and ends..
then labor.

so lets get this check list out of the way..

2007 Ford Focus 2.0L Engine swap.

1 Take all accessory and other parts attached to block
2 Put 2.0 intake manifold on 2.3
3 Buy 2.3 pass motor mount(or buy 1/2 inch worth of washers) and acc belt
4 Redrill dip stick from 2.0 to fit 2.3 ( not 100% sure whats involved but sounds cheap enough...
5 Tune Engine to 2.3L specs ( not sure where to go in Vegas for that )

washers to raise the engine mount will run you about $6, the accessory belt about $25, drilling the hole in the dipstick tube will run you 15 minutes of labor max.

Using the 2.3L IM has a benifit? I would just use the 2.0L IM if that works just as good. I would like to keep this simple.

I assume tranny can handle the engine. My CAI and Mass air flow sensor is same.

Will the car run ok without the tune till I find someone if I just pop all that in there
