The trim glare is just finding the right stuff to dull it. Even if the aluminum were dull, that would be enough. As i mentioned ,I plan on painting the trim with acrylic paint, some clear 'duller' (from artist acrylic will do the job.)
They make a spray paint to frost glass. That would seem to be good to dull any glossy surfaces. If you don't want to tape off areas to use the spray you might try spraying into a disposable bowl to get pool of paint. Then use a brush to paint the glossy surfaces.
