Short-shifters from Steeda are not just shorter stalks, they have different geometry and cable/spring locations to make the shifts easier and more positive.

This cheap mod could mean harder engagement due to less leverage than the stalk was designed for.

Anyone know why the shifter mechanism was changed by Ford mid-way through 2002 production?
