I've eliminated EGR on cars before, but have since reconsidered the process. Yes it cleans up the engine compartment, but you give up some fuel economy and there really isn't any performance to be had there.

There is a GM part number for a cap with the correct threads: 12556597. Last time I bought one it was under $8.
My goal was to fix the exhaust leak at the intake side from where the little bushing or what ever failed. It was puffing out exhaust, you couldn't hear it but it was bothering me. I never planned to remove it, but since it was leaking it went by by.

Thank you for the part number. I definitely recommend it compared to what I used. While searching for a place to get it I ran across this guy which looks like it would work by directly plugging into the header. You could really use ether one.
