Pretty much they are manual transmissions with two clutchs that are controlled electronically. I like to think of them more like manuals with automatic modes. Its not as engaging....but flicking paddles to change the gears in a ferrari while blasting through a tunnel on a European mountain side can be just as exciting.
Yeah It's definitely not for everyone, I will give you that. But yes it's fun for those of us who would like to have the best of both worlds. The market shows that people are willing to pay good money for that option. I don't understand why manual enthusiasts get touchy on this subject. Nobody is requesting that manuals should be banned completely. Having more options is just always better, period. People need to chill out.
