I did this it was very easy. I cut mine 2 inchs. For the reverse lock out I unscrewd the fac. knob
and the boot and lock out came right off. I cut the wire tie to get the lock out, out of the boot.
After I cut the shaft I cut the lock out just below the notch where the boot was tide. I then replaced the boot to the modified lock out. Iput the boot and lock out back on the shaft, it rested on the bend it the shaft, I also put back in the origanl spring and knob. You can't tell at all. It works great and I don't have the lock out function. ass soon as i get some pics i'll post them. Thanks for all the good info!
