Well, I dropped by Lowes last night and was able to find the very same EcoFi carpet squares! Upon close inspection, I observed how thin the squares are, so now I'm not so sure how well they will reduce sound. Granted, I'm definitely thinking of dropping those squares in the wheel wells because it is exposed to the elements and would hold up better than insulation, but now I feel that I should use a different product in the interior of the car. Perhaps pink insulation for houses could suffice? If I take a denser insulation and compress it down, it'll probably help dampen the sound and help deaden my car; I'm not overly concerned about it "insulating" my car, so I should be fine if I compress it, right? Will it still achieve the same effect?
