Between you, the customs guys and the couriers, *you* are the only one well out of pocket when it comes to shipping to Canada.
I have a postal outlet that receives anything I buy in the US and holds it for a nominal fee. Not only can I take advantage of cheaper or even free shipping, but I can get normally away from government duty and courier broker charges.
I learned the hard way when I ordered my SCT Xcal2 and H&R springs from FocusSport. They were offering free shipping anywhere in the US at the time, but I had nowhere to receive them in the US, so they got shipped to my door in Canada. Well, $120 Canadian later to pay for taxes and courier a$$ wiping charges I had my new gear in hand (but a bad taste in my mouth)
