Everyone has to start somewhere, and what's wrong with what you already have?
Taking an all stock or mostly stock car out on the track for the first time is a perfect way to start.
It teaches you how to preserve momentum, be smooth, and get the most out of what you already have.
That experience will translate into a reduced learning curve and much faster times in the long run.
When starting out with a highly modded car, a lot of those items (sticky tires for example)
will mask mistakes that you don't even realize you're making.
Using the sticky tires as an example:
If you start out on a street tire you'll learn the benefits of how to keep traction (be smooth),
you'll get an acute feel for when they're getting ready to break loose,
and even more importantly, how to reel the vehicle back in to prevent that.
I say, go for it with what you got Billy.
