Stock location speakers for mostly rock

The topic pretty much sums it up. Good, clean highs; deep, well-represented (and CLEAN) bass, and relatively neutral mids. In headphones I tend to like colder/brighter signatures (for example, I really like my HD-280 Pros, but a lot of people consider them too bright and harsh in the highs). I'm hoping I won't feel the need for a subwoofer after this.

For now they'll be driven straight from my Alpine CDA-9856 but ultimately I would like to add a 4-channel amp (if it's worth it/what amp would be recommended?). Stock location, as I said, and probably in the $150/pair range.

I do intend to check out local shops and do some listening, but I'm just hoping to get some bearings so I know what to look for. Thanks!
