I'm a rookie to the sport, I guess. I've only ran twice.
Wiregrass Region (there are maybe 25 cars on a good day, but there are a lot of loyals and they're really good people)
Dead bottom of STS with mild intake/exhaust mods.
Hopefully I can get my Koni sport kit soon to finish off this year.
First time I went out I came in 4/7 in my class. I ended up beating a Prelude and an RSX-S, something else I can't remember. Apparently I had a little more knowledge of lines going into it than they did, because I think they were newbies, too. I spend my life on Gran Turismo so I know at least the very basics.
Last race I got stomped. The track was virtually 3 1/4 miles with a few turns in-between and one slalom.
My car is awful at accelerating, since I'm limited by the ATX. Yes, that's right, it's an ATX but it's still the biggest rush I get every month and it's really tough for anyone to keep me away from the track.
Like everyone else seems to be saying, I'm not there to win, I'm there to learn. It's amazing how much I've improved with just 12 heats.
