I'll have to update tomorrow after I check. I just got a bit mad with the service mgr because he couldn't tell me more detail than 'replace both loose outer tie rods'. It did feel like a shake down and then they brought up safety etc. The car was driven to a small town 400 miles away. Now is headed back tomorrow.

Is it possible a 'loose' tie rod end needs replacing after 1 week? Wouldn't an alignment person generally give it a shake during a camber adjust etc and report a loose end?
Do dealer's automatically fail an aftermarket part?
What should I check? I've heard of the 9 and 3 shaking of the wheel, verify the castle torque, the lock nut secured. Anything else? I'm second guessing myself.
