Sylvania ZXE Headlights and Fogs. Pics
I know many of you think it's a waste of money buying this bulb or that bulb that claims to be brighter than stock or whatever but I just would like to share my pictures in case someone wants to go this route. I have tried HID's with issues so I took them out after only 2 weeks.
These are the H11 ZXE bulbs from Sylvania. Pricey but so far they are pretty nice compared to OEM. I only have about 30 minutes of use from these in the pictures so far. They say a color of "up to 4,300k" and have a 12-month warranty. Before with 6,000k HID Fogs: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...AxMTEuanBn.jpg After with all of the Sylvania ZXE's: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0/IMAG0288.jpg OEM Low beam only: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0/IMAG0282.jpg ZXE Low beam only: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0/IMAG0298.jpg ZXE Low beam and fogs: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0/IMAG0297.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0/IMAG0289.jpg ZXE Low beam and OEM High beam: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0/IMAG0299.jpg Down road before and after: (I have more but need to get them off my phone) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0/IMAG0295.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0/IMAG0296.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0/IMAG0283.jpg |
I was torn between these, and the Phillips Crystal or Diamond vision bulbs for my 11 mazda....I wonder if these ZXE have the same hit or miss quality control as the rest of the Silverstars.....

Ya with a 1 year warranty I don't have to worry. I keep my receipts in case I need it.

That looks like a very nice improvement, much cleaner light than the OEM yellow-ish bulbs. Thanks for the write-up [clap]

Thanks for this, i'm also looking to upgrade the bulbs in my car. When dark and rainy i find it hard to see, my old car had 55 watt hid projectors that were awesome and i'm finding it hard to get used to these headlights.
How is installing the bulbs do you need to remove the entire headlight housing? what about the fogs, are they easy to swap out? |
nice bright bulbs but still contain a "yellow" tint in my opinion. i just installed 6000k bi-xentec hid bulbs and balasts... i couldnt b happier. but overall urs r better than oem

Just untwist the foglight and then pull it towards you, unclip the bulb and put your new one in, then slide down and twist it back into place. The headlights are the same but you can do them at eye level since you have the housings off. Very very simple. Thanks for the interest. I am loving them more and more as I drive more. |
This may sound silly, but would you be able to post some pictures or something for the process for a technically inclined person? (it's tough for me to imagine, especially if i've never seen it before, etc).

wow. big difference. will be doing this swap next month.

what about some of the claims that it'll burn out your electric harness and all that?
